So one of the owner / managers has told me to be more assertive, because drunks are like lions and can detect the weak.
Mainly, he really made it clear that he's more worried about me getting hurt than I've been (so far).
Spent the morning watching Bas Rutan videos.
BTW -- all of this was initiated by me having to tell a guy two times to check his coat. He was lifted off of his feet and deposited outside.
But not by me, which was the crux of the problem.
Don't get down on yourself too much. Learn from it and don't make the same mistake tonight.
